Project Description

A cliff slip had threatened a busy road in and out of Weir Quay, a small enclave on the Bere Peninsula, Devon. Our task was to stabilise the existing cliff and build a masonry retaining wall backfilled with reinforced concrete.

Our main challenge came during the construction of the masonry wall. Poor access and working conditions along the cliff meant that we had to build the wall from below. As a result, we had to carry out the work according to the tides, to maintain the safety of the crew and equipment.

We were able to complete the project within the set timeframe and budget.
