Project Description

As part of a £3million regeneration project to weir gates throughout the Thames valley, Jacksons Civils asked Marine Civil Solutions to support them with the temporary works required to provide a safe and dry working area for the Engineers replacing the gates.

This required divers to position and fix large steel frames against the concrete structure of the weir in order to place large steel “Stop Logs”. This created a water tight barrier on both the upstream and down stream side of the radial gates which when pumped out, provided a safe working area for the Engineers.

On completion of each of the gates installation, MCS Divers relocated the temporary works to the next gate to be changed.
