Project Description

Over time, the ocean currents had eroded and damaged Teignmouth’s sea wall. Consequently, a 100m section of the wall needed to be repointed and, in some areas, underpinned and rebuilt.

We carried out the project within a limited working window, due to the tidal conditions on the beach. To minimise any risk of contamination, we used an environmentally friendly mortar, Rockbond, designed specifically for sensitive environments. It cured in minutes, which allowed the mortar to be submerged by the tide in less than an hour.

We completed the works within two weeks, a week ahead of schedule – and on budget. The client had never used Rockbond before and was pleased with the results.
