Project Description

New Bridge is a narrow, listed structure on Dartmoor. Over time, the granite copings had been knocked off the parapet wall into the River Dart.

Because of the size and weight of the copings, only an experienced dive team could recover them safely. That’s why we were awarded the contract.

Our diving team used airlift bags to float the large granite copings (weighing in excess of 100kg) to the riverbank. From here, we transported them off site to re-use at a later stage.
